Cela place le Burundi dans la liste des 10 premiers pays ayant d'importants gisements de nickel inexploit\u00e9s dans le monde.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le complexe de Musongati, le plus grand du pays, est constitu\u00e9 de trois unit\u00e9s :<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>le plateau de Buhinga (environ 6 km\u00b2) ;<\/li>\n<li>le plateau de Rubara et Nkeyuke (environ 23 km\u00b2),<\/li>\n<li>les sous-ensembles de Macu, Mwiriba, Mutanga, Makakwe et Kivoga.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" class=\"translation-block\">Le gisement de lat\u00e9rite de Musongati a une \u00e9paisseur d'environ 82 m\u00e8tres et couvre une superficie d'environ 30 km\u00b2. Environ 220 millions de tonnes de minerai (contenant du cuivre et du cobalt) avec une teneur moyenne d'environ 1,5 % de nickel (le nickel existe \u00e9galement \u00e0 Waga et Nyabikere) ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couvertes dans cette commune. Du chrome et des \u00e9l\u00e9ments du groupe platine y ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 signal\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L'activit\u00e9 mini\u00e8re burundaise a \u00e9t\u00e9 jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent domin\u00e9e par des techniques mini\u00e8res rudimentaires caract\u00e9ris\u00e9es par une faible capacit\u00e9 de production et un manque de respect de l'environnement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L'implantation d'une usine de fabrication de nickel dans la Zone Economique Sp\u00e9ciale Burundi (ZES Burundi) b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiera d'un approvisionnement illimit\u00e9 en mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re \u00e0 des prix comp\u00e9titifs pour la fabrication de produits en nickel. L'usine sera la premi\u00e8re de ce type dans la r\u00e9gion. Globalement, elles sont r\u00e9parties sur 170 sites dont 47 pour l'or, 120 pour le tantale, l\u2019\u00e9tain, le tungst\u00e8ne, 1 pour la gal\u00e8ne, 1 pour l'am\u00e9thyste, 1 pour la bauxite, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ils sont principalement exploit\u00e9s dans les provinces de Cibitoke et Bubanza (ouest) ; Kirundo, Ngozi, Muyinga, Kayanza (nord) mais aussi \u00e0 Ruyigi (est) et Bururi (sud).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" class=\"translation-block\">Les \u00e9tudes prospectives disponibles r\u00e9v\u00e8lent que le site de Cimba (516,9 km2) dans la province de Cibitoke compte 14 tonnes d'or, 36.000 tonnes de cuivre et 16 tonnes d'argent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cependant, l'exploitation des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s mini\u00e8res pr\u00e9sente de nombreuses imperfections. Pour en sortir, l'Etat burundais a entrepris de profondes r\u00e9formes dans le secteur. En 2019, l'exportation, par ce pays, de ce m\u00e9tal gris argent\u00e9 dur et apparent\u00e9 valait 10,1 millions de dollars US, soit 5,59 % des exportations mondiales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le tantale est l'un des m\u00e9taux les plus rares et les plus recherch\u00e9s.
